Dr Helen Hanna

Dr Helen Hanna is passionate about supporting early-career researchers find their way in scholarly life. She is an educational research consultant and trainer in writing for academic publication. She is also an Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of International and Comparative Education, East China Normal University, and previously worked as a Lecturer in Education at Leeds Trinity University, UK. Her research and teaching focus on inclusion in education and is especially interested in experiences of migrant and ethnic minority learners and qualitative, creative research methods. Helen has completed funded research in England, South Africa, Northern Ireland, Israel, Canada and Kenya. She has published in Compare: Journal of International and Comparative Education and Children’s Geographies. She enjoys reaching out to non-academic audiences through writing more accessible pieces for the British Educational Research Association’s Research Intelligence magazine and blog, The Conversation Africa and The Guardian Teacher Network.
